Brighton Nuwagira is a PhD candidate in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating in Summer 2026. His research focuses on machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical learning, and topological data analysis, with applications to medical imaging and biomedical data analysis. He is passionate about undergraduate teaching, mentoring, and developing innovative learning and assessment tools. Brighton serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UT Dallas. He is also a co-founder and co-organizer of the Computational Intelligence Reading Group (CIG), where he helps organize weekly research talks and discussions that bring together students and researchers interested in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. His broader interests include data science education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of mathematicians and AI researchers.
